Neighbors Greta and Michael Mittman are out to change that. Since 2017, the couple has introduced sailing to more than 9,300 people by offering free rides on The Spirit of Dallas catamaran. Each cruise allows visitors to experience the beauty of White Rock Lake while learning about its unique history and wildlife. Not only is The Spirit of Dallas under that threshold, once it leaves the dock, it becomes a true sailboat and runs on wind power alone. We did the sunset cruise for 1 1/2 hours then have dinner at one of the nice restaurants walking distance from the dock.
